I think that the "Sci-fi-horror-synth-trash" term explains your production very well. Introduce your monster to whom still doesn't know it.
Dr. G.Metzel: Our ghastly monster is called
"THECREEPINGTEENAGEMUTANTVAMPIRESOFDOOMCOMINGFROMOUTERSPACE
INVADEEARTHFORTHETHIRDTIME
USINGPLANNINEAGAIN". It’s a demo CD-R with 4 creepy tracks on it. The
lyrics deal with daily live, so it’s all about monsters, aliens,
vampires and fresh human meat (of course)…
When is the monster officially born? Who are the crazy doctors who stand behind this ghoulish experiment?
Dr. G.Metzel: What? Two Doctors? You think my
bloody servant is a doctor??? Ha ha, that’s a good one! He (sorry, I
mean “it”) has no intellect at all. It always does what I say!
Well,
the first experiments started in the summer of 2003. As I only have an
exam in veterinary medicine, it took some time building Riediger, but
then it all happened really fast. My factotum actually did a great job
and finally in May 2004 our blood-splattered tracks were ready to be
unleashed … uh, released!!! …
Riediger: I’d like to study arts…
Dr. G. Metzel: What???
Riediger: Uh, nothing master…
Dr. G. Metzel: Hm, maybe you’ll get some pencils for Christmas … if you’re pliant.

Listening to your demo I've heard different musical influences. Which are the music styles that mainly inspired your music?
Dr. G. Metzel: The experiments are mainly inspired
by extraterrestrial music, but unfortunately you won’t know most of
that stuff. However there are also some bands from planet earth which
have a influence on my work, like Deadbolt,
The Cramps, Reverend Beat-Man, The Monsters … and the Misfits.
For the most part I listen to (horror-) punk, HC, weird electronic
stuff, horror-surf, deathrock and garage.
Riediger: I like Madonna…
Dr. G. Metzel: Shut up, creature!
Riediger: Grumbl…
Your songs are full of 80's old synths, mixed with
horror-style samples. I like it very much! Which minimal electronic
artists that you value most?
Dr. G. Metzel: What 80’s? Which century? … Oh, you mean the 1980’s !? I still like Carter USM, ‘cause their sound is really unique, but my favourite electronic artist isn’t from the 80’s … it’s Aphex Twin! I really admire his work.
For me that’s the most exciting sound that was ever created by an earthling.
Riediger: I like Tubeway Army
Dr. G. Metzel: Grrrr…

Tell us something about your next crazy experiment: are you working on a new production?
Dr. G. Metzel: We’ve just finished the work on a very special “Christmas single”, which will soon appear on our homepage (www.bat-attakk.com) for free mp3-download. At the same time we’re still generating some new stuff.
Expect a new demo in spring 2005!
Songs like "tiki tiki tarantula" and "beware the stare" could be appreciated very well. Have you already performed live shows in planet earth? And in outer space?
Dr. G. Metzel: We’ve done some projects in outer space before, but nothing on planet earth so far. As we’re only a duo, you shouldn’t expect a live show at all, but maybe there will be some bloody performances in autumn 2005 …
Riediger: I have a little solo-project which…
Dr. G. Metzel: Silence!!! This doesn’t interest anybody!
Riediger: Humpf…

Finally, let's talk about cinema. Which are the classic and b-side horror movies do you like?
Dr. G. Metzel: That’s an easy one … I really adore “Plan 9 From Outer Space” and “The Night Of The Living Dead”. Horror movies should always be filmed in black and white … that’s much more atmospheric!
Riediger: I like… Uhhh, I meant… No, not the electro-shocker!!! Brrrrzz! AAARRRGHH!
Dr. G. Metzel: Hmmmhh, he’s quiet now, maybe it was a bit too much … Wimp! 5000 Volts won’t hurt you at all…
That's all. Have you something to tell to the living deads that will
read this interview?
Dr. G. Metzel: Always carry a sharp knife and a plastic-bag with you . Matching body parts are hard to find!!! Riediger, don’t forget your shovel … we’re out of here! …
Riediger: Yes, Master, oh wisest of all!!! (Sigh…)
